sweethome (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. By using sweethome you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). We never store your password in plain text.
When you browse listings we may collect anonymised usage data such as pages visited and filters applied. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
If you submit a listing we collect the property details, open home times, and your contact information for verification purposes.
How we use your information
To operate and improve the sweethome platform, including displaying listings, remembering saved properties, and sending you relevant notifications if you opt in.
To communicate with you about your account, submitted listings, or changes to our service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies
sweethome uses cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your saved listings and filter preferences across sessions.
We may use analytics cookies (such as those provided by Vercel or similar services) to understand how the platform is used in aggregate. These cookies do not identify you personally.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Some features of sweethome may not function correctly without cookies enabled.
Third-party services
We use Mapbox to power the interactive map. When you view the map, your browser connects to Mapbox servers. Mapbox's own privacy policy governs that data.
We use Supabase for authentication and database storage. Data is stored in secure, encrypted infrastructure in line with industry standards.
We do not embed third-party advertising or tracking pixels.
Data retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Listing data submitted by agents is retained for the duration of the listing period and may be archived for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping.
Anonymised analytics data may be retained indefinitely.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you.
You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting us at privacy@viewing.nz.
If you believe we have breached your privacy rights you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do we will update the date at the bottom of this page and, where the changes are material, notify you by email.
Continued use of sweethome after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
